The client: Atelier & Stone. A goldsmith and accomplished jewelry designer from England, a young woman and small business owner after my own heart. She is, in one word, AMAZING.
We bit off a lot- this being my first ever look book. Model casting, hair, makeup, styling, location scouting- every little thing. A-Z, we did lifestyle photography, close ups for scale, and the ever tedious product shots (OK- we did the product shots a few times- turns out formal jewelry photography is WHOLE thing...). In the end it was undoubtably the biggest production to date. We filled my tiny one bedroom with racks of clothes, set up hair at the kitchen table and makeup by a large window in my workspace. Every box of jewelry sat open with its polished contents gleaming. We paged back and forth through the looks we assembled the day before while swatting cats off the antique chair that was purchased for the shoot and began fitting the models into their first look (lint rollers close at hand).
We set up in the grand entrance of my apartment building, of all places, using the floor to ceiling windows, stone floors, and ornate cornicing to begin our production. The result: A hand crafted line of jewelry inspired by antique texture, designed for the contemporary woman "to be worn for everyday luxury".
